Heartwood Trilogy Vatted Malt Tasmanian Whiskies X3
Heartwood Witch’s Cauldron Cask Strength Vatted Malt Tasmanian Whisky 500ml 61.2%
This vatted malt contains an older Lark Whisky from a 300L dry sherry cask LD 766. The cask was not contributing anything further to the whisky. It was flat and boring. Take out 100 litres. Add to 80L of a youthful RD 166 from Old Kempton but distilled under the Redlands days. RD 166 gives it front end and depth. LD 766 gives it age and maturity.
Heartwood Wizard’s Sceptre Cask Strength Vatted Malt Tasmanian Whisky 500ml 60.7%
Heartwood Wizard’s Sceptre is the follow up to the Witch’s Cauldron. Composed of an older Lark Whisky from a 300L dry sherry cask (LD 766), then add 80L of 4-year-old Old Kempton spirit that was distilled under the Redlands days (RD-189), and finish with a splash of 2-year-old Belgrove peated fire (PB 121).
Heartwood Don’t @#$%&* it up, Son! Cask Strength Vatted Malt Tasmanian Whisky 500ml 59.65%
This release is the follow up to the Wizard’s Sceptre that completes the themed, Heartwood ‘Vatted Malt’ trilogy that started with the Witch’s Cauldron. It’s the first whisky constructed by Mr H Junior, Louis Duckett (Tim Duckett’s son) under the Heartwood brand, hence the name. It is based on the first Tokay cask filled by Lark + some younger sherried whisky and the tiniest bit (‘0.003%) of youthful peated whisky.
